A Photo a Week Challenge: Working with Animals

This week’s challenge from Nancy Merrill Photography’s blog reminded me of an older image that I thought was very appropriate. This is an image of Daisy taken several years ago with an Olympus E-500. She would lay her chin on my laptop while I was working from home. One evening I set up my tripod over my right shoulder knowing that it would be a matter of time before she got there. She had to be put down due to advanced age and health problems- a sad day indeed.

A couple of years later, Lucy came home from the animal shelter. She’s a lab mix, and just as loving as Lucy. I tried to recreate the shot of Daisy with Lucy’s snoot on my laptop, but all I got was a lap full of dog wanting a belly rub.

Where is My Walk?

Please comment or email with any feedback or other comments. In the meantime, I’ll be working with Lucy.

I take care of special needs cats, many who are older right now. I understand what it’s like to walk as you care for them until the day you make the mercy call. God bless you!

Thank you for the message Amy. My daughter has taken in cats, and my sister fosters dogs. Many warm feelings as a result. Have a great holiday season 😀
