A Photo a Week Challenge: Christmas

Continuing with Nancy’s post a week challenge, and this week’s theme was Christmas. 2020 was one for the books, and I’ll let the historians comment on its ultimate impact. Christmas should always be a time of joy and happiness; a time to make merry and to laugh. This ornament always makes me laugh whenever I place it on the tree.

I received this as a gift sometime in the early ’90s if I recall correctly. Hopefully, this will give you a bit of a chuckle when you view it.

Technical details: Nikon D5600, ISO 100, F5 @ 1/15 sec, 45mm focal length. Exposure -1. Very little post processing other than a smidge of white balance and miscellaneous tweaks.

OH! This reminds me… I would bet that most of you would be using Lightroom and Photoshop. ‘Tis the season for me to admit that I’m a bit of a Scrooge (bah, humbug!) when it comes to spending money. I opted to use Paintshop Pro years ago when it was free. Now it’s a Corel app, and I’ve recently upgraded to Paintshop Pro 2021, along with Aftershot Pro. Steep learning curve and I’m hopeful to find some online (ahem… *free*) tutorials to start improving proficiency.

I wish everyone who reads this (and those who don’t as well) a very joyous holiday season, and I’m looking forward to sharpening my photography skills.
