In my previous posts, I’ve been showing some of the assignments from the introductory photography course that I’m taking. As a result, I’ve been a bit lax in participating in Nancy’s weekly challenges. For the most part, the class assignments didn’t fit the challenge’s topic.
Until this week. In class, the assignment was to take an image which stops motion. I spun a quarter on the kitchen counter top, and shot it using shutter priority and a high ISO to catch the quarter at the time the spin slowed and it began to fall flat. Framing was targeting one of the “thirds” points in the frame, thus being “off-center.”
With the low, indoor lighting and the glare on Washington’s cheeks, I wasn’t able to fully bring out the white of the counter top. This may take a little more work, but I’ll be turning it in for the assignment.
